Read the labels very carefully when you purchase these products.

Always check the amount of salt on the label. If buying commercial stock, buy “no salt added”. You can always add a small amount later.

These ingredients have questionable additives. They are not natural and may include MSG or monosodium glutamate.

The worst culprit is hydrolyzed vegetable protein. It is made from vegetables that were labeled unfit for sale.

Their nutrients are extracted through a process called hydrolysis, which requires the manufacturer to boil the vegetables in acid. The acid is neutralized by a caustic soda. One is left with a brown sludge that dries into a brown powder. I don’t like the process and would not recommend buying any products that list this ingredient on the label.
